Omeka Workshop

September 25, 2012 @ 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm

The Omeka web publishing software allows scholars to publish digital scholarship, present and contextualize primary source materials, and present narratives around digital content. The University Library through the Carolina Digital Library and Archives (CDLA) is beginning a pilot project to evaluate the feasibility of providing an Omeka-based service to researchers on our campus. They are soliciting faculty and graduate student partners who wish to experiment with Omeka in a pilot mode in support of their research or teaching between now and the fall of 2013. At this session, Natasha Smith and Jenn Riley from the CDLA will provide a brief introduction to Omeka’s capabilities, discuss how the pilot test will be structured, and be available to discuss possibilities for collaboration with faculty as part of the pilot test.

More information on the software and its capabilities may be found at http://omeka.org/codex/How_Might_You_Use_Omeka.
