Application Period for DH Tech Bootcamp

April 8, 2013 - April 16, 2013

$50 – $100

Curious about the digital humanities but haven’t dipped your toes in the water yet? This hands-on, skill-building bootcamp is intended for digital humanities (DH) enthusiasts with little to no technical expertise. Over the course of three days, the bootcamp will provide you with a crash course in a number of DH methodologies and tools. Bring your laptop and your curiosity, and you’ll leave with the skills you need to get started on your own DH project work.

Applications will be accepted from April 8 to April 16. Please note that selections will be made April 17, so we are unable to consider late applications. Check the website on April 8 for a link to the application form. Applicants will be required to provide a short statement (150 words) explaining how the skills acquired at the bootcamp will impact their scholarly practice and/or career goals.

The committee will look for individuals who have little to no technical expertise, but have an interest in cultivating and applying skills taught at the bootcamp to their work and scholarship. Applicants selected to attend will come from a diverse range of disciplines and backgrounds and will be at different points in their careers. Only those able to attend all three days will be considered, and priority will be given to UNC-Chapel Hill faculty, staff, and graduate students.

Notifications will be sent by April 22.
