Doing Digital Humanities: Data Workshop (Reprise)

November 11, 2013 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

In response to demand for the Oct 24 Digital Humanities Data workshop, we have arranged to offer this workshop a second time. We have also allowed more time in this workshop for hands-on activities, based on feedback and interest from previous participants. Please circulate this information to those who may be interested.

Digital Humanities Data WORKSHOP
Monday, November 11, 2:00-3:30 PM
Wired! Lab (Bay 11, Smith Warehouse, Duke University)
Pamella Lach, Workshop Leader
Register here  (limited seating – registration required)

In this workshop, participants will explore what it means to undertake data-driven digital humanities projects, and experiment with approaches to translating and transforming traditional objects of humanistic inquiry into data. No previous experience with digital humanities or relational databases is required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptops.

This workshop is part of Doing DH, a Duke University Libraries’ digital scholarship series  focusing on basic skills needed for working in the digital humanities. Events showcase people, projects, and expertise in the Research Triangle and offer insights into the practical side of being a digital humanist. All events are open to faculty, staff, and students at Research Triangle institutions.
