Data Viz Workshop Series: Digital Map Making

Would you like to incorporate charts, graphs, or maps into your work but aren’t sure where to start? This semester, the Research Hub at the UNC Library, in partnership with the Carolina Digital Humanities Initiative and the Digital Innovation Lab, will host a series of workshops on data visualization. Join us to learn the information and the skills you need.

Workshops will take place in Davis Library, Room 247, at 1 p.m. on select Tuesdays. They and are free and open to the public. Read more.

Digital Map Making – CartoDB/ArcGIS Online
Presenters: Phil McDaniel and Amanda Henley
In anticipation of GIS Day on November 19, this workshop will highlight two user-friendly online mapping tools: CartoDB, a web mapping tool; and ArcGIS Online, a web mapping tool and an online component of ArcGIS. Learn how to control the look of your maps, search for and incorporate data, and embed maps into websites.
